The business cards have remained to be an important part of a business’ marketing program. Over the years, they have been the loyal companion of business owners when going around getting new contacts and introducing them to their business. Even though changes in technology have been evident, these lowly cards have maintained their effectiveness. If you are new in the business industry and want to generate and communicate well with your customers and prospects, you better have these cards on your pocket at all times.
The flip side
When making your cards more keep-worthy, you shouldn’t focus only on the front side but on the reverse side as well. The reverse should be as good as the front. Often, the backside contains the main message, benefits, or offers provided by the business. It should be the promotional side which can contain details such as a list of your top products, a calendar, your store hours, and even useful tips and hints. If you opt for custom printing, you can put whatever detail or design you want at the back of your card. It is recommended to put enough white space on the backside so the words will be easy to read.
The logo
No matter how big or small your business is you need to have a logo. You logo will be your image, your representative. It will brand your business and make you more memorable to people. You need to put your logo in all your marketing materials whether it is your business card, postcard, receipt, or invoice. Even your website should have your logo on every page. This will help in your publicity and in staying visible to your customers and prospects.
The design of your logo should be as simple as possible. You can ask the help of your designer if you don’t know how to make the design yourself. If you want to personally create your own design, here are the rules to follow:
- Make the design memorable. It should be easy to recognize so people will get familiar with you easily. - Use only one or two colors. Don’t confuse your target audience with the rainbow colors on your card. - Use a simple shape. You don’t have to be overly creative with your logo. Just use a shape what will effectively present your brand.
Make sure your logo is flexible so it can be used anywhere and can meet all your marketing needs.
Your photo
It’s always a good idea to your photo on your card. This will make your card look unique and noticeable. This will even turn your simple card into a mini billboard that will present to your target audience the good things about your business. Just make sure to use a high quality photo preferably taken by a professional photographer so you can be sure of the quality of the image when printed.
Among the benefits of a photo on your card are face recognition and self-confidence. When people receive your card, they will easily get familiar with you and remember you the next time you see each other.
Fast tips on business cards:
- Don’t try to make your cards on your own if you don’t know how. It’s best if you look for a custom printer that can help you in the job. - Don’t put too many colors and images on your design. - Use small letter on your contact details.

Maintaining and increasing market exposure can be the biggest challenge of many business owners. Sometimes, even if they have successfully broken into their target market, they still have a hard time staying on it. It’s often as easy to break the momentum as to get into it. Because a successful marketing campaign requires staying visible and on top of people’s mind, it’s crucial that you are able to hold that momentum and it keep alive.
If you are desperate and wants the easy way to keep your business visible, there’s one material you can use: calendar. Calendar printing may be a conventional marketing material but it sure is one of the best ways to make sure your business stay in front of thousands of people. A lot of businesses hand out free calendars at the beginning of each year. When you consider the extent of the exposure you will get, you will surely be encouraged to include this material in your marketing program.
Because calendars are inexpensive to produce, you don’t have any reason not to do it today. The following are simple guides to help you come up with your own impressive calendar:
1 – Pick the best colors. Keep in mind that you need to look professional and credible in front of your customers and prospects. You might want to pick colors that are relevant to your business. For instance, if you run a restaurant, you might want to use the color yellow as it is believed to appeal to people’s appetite. Make sure though that the colors you use will look exactly the same as you see them on the computer screen. This way, your materials will look as impressive as possible.
2 – Paper. Because your calendars will stay with your customers for a long time, you need to make sure that you use high quality and durable paper. Ask your printer want kind of paper is appropriate for your calendar.
3 – Find a good layout. There are calendar templates you can use to make the design process quick and easy. These templates will make sure that your design complements with your business image. However, you need to pick the best template that will give you a unique look. You don’t want to create a calendar that looks generic. Pick a design that will help you get a customized look. If the template doesn’t allow for customization, you might want to create your own layout. There are designers who can help with this job.
4 – Use the most durable binding. It’s important that every page of the calendar stays together. You can use saddle stitching or rings to bind your material.
5 – Be sure to get a hardcopy sample before final printing. Be sure to get a sample of your design so you can check is there are errors or changes that need to be made. Just imagine printing 5,000 copies and finding out after the print job is done that your contact numbers are wrong. You can’t just cross out the wrong detail and write on top of it the correct one. This will make you look unprofessional. So, be sure to get a sample before printing.
So, why not create your own calendars today and see the improvement it will give your business in the coming years.

One of the most important things you need to ensure in your business is to generate repeat purchases. This means encouraging existing and old customers to come back again and make a purchase. That may sound easy to do. You just call the customer and tell him about your latest offerings. But if you have to do that regularly, it would be such time consuming. What if you can just have one material that will do the job for you?
You are in luck. There is actually one great material that can help you encourage customers to keep coming back, and that is no other than calendars. Calendar printing may seem a simple material, but it can actually help build customer loyalty without spending much and exerting too much effort. If your budget is low but you need to have a material that will attract people’s attention at once, then calendars will give that balance.
Why are calendars an ideal marketing tool? Well, because they let you create just one marketing tool but get a whole year market exposure. Even in today’s high tech and high speed business environment, they still prove to be an ideal tool. They will showcase your business all throughout the year while still providing a good use to customers.
If you want to generate more business with your calendars, there are important elements that should be present in your design. Keep in mind that unless your materials are able to provide good information and impressive features, no one would bother hanging it on their wall or putting it on their desk. You need to incorporate the right design elements to make sure your material delivers it’ job well.
Images. People are attracted to visually appealing images. If you can include them in your calendar, the easier it would be for you to encourage people to display your material. You can always make use of the images of the products your offer. Just make sure to put a caption below each image to give your customers an idea what it is about. Have a professional photographer take the photos for you so you are assured that they will look impressive in your calendar. If you will be using other images, make sure it is relevant to your business and will look good in your calendar.
White space. No matter how many images and texts you put in your calendar templates, make sure there is still white space to make the message easy to read. The spaces can also be used to write appointments, notes, and reminders.
Contact details. Don’t forget to put your complete contact details so your customers won’t have a hard time getting in touch with you anytime of the year. Make sure the details are updated; otherwise, your customers won’t bother contacting you again.
Marketing side. Make sure to include marketing points in your design so you can encourage people to buy again from your business. You can include discount coupons or incentives in the design which will be valid for a certain period of time. This will entice your customers to come back again to take advantage of the discount. You can also highlight the dates when you will have special sales to serve as reminder to your customers.
If your calendars are interesting and compelling, they will surely be displayed and be a constant reminder to your customers to come back again.
